The University of New Haven today announced it is preparing to welcome the second largest class in its almost 100-year history this fall.

The Class of 2022 comprises more than 1,300 first-year students and nearly 200 transfer students from 31 different states as well as the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and Guam. It also includes students from 16 different countries and is 58 percent female.

First-year students will be moving into the University’s residence halls on Wednesday, August 22 and Thursday, August 23 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Returning students will be arriving on campus on Friday, August 24.

"Our goal is to make the transition to college life at the University of New Haven as smooth as possible." Greg Overend, executive director of student engagement, leadership, and orientation

"This is a campus-wide initiative, and everyone at the University plays a crucial role in helping our new students to adjust and feel welcome," said Greg Overend, executive director of student engagement, leadership, and orientation.

As the University’s enrollment continues to grow, its campus and programs have continued to expand. Through its Building for Success initiative, the University is making significant enhancements to its campus, including its residence halls, and it is building the new Bergami Center for Science, Technology, and Innovation, a state-of-the-art facility that will house collaborative classrooms, innovative engineering and science labs, and a 3D visualization technology suite.
