U.S. Senator Tells Class of 2021: 'You Have Faced Challenges that Have Prepared You as No Other Class'

In his keynote address at the University of New Haven’s Spring Commencement, United States Senator Richard Blumenthal ’00 Hon. commended more than 1,600 graduates for the resilience and grit they have demonstrated throughout the pandemic, and urged them to find opportunities to foster positive change in the face of adversity.

As part of the ceremony, His Excellency Mr. Amr Al-Dabbagh, a successful Saudi business executive and philanthropist, was conferred an honorary Doctor of Business Administration degree, and Lois Bergami, one of the University of New Haven’s most devoted benefactors and volunteer leaders, was awarded an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree.

SUCCESS Mentoring Program

The Myatt Center for Diversity and Inclusion is launching a new mentorship program this Fall. The SUCCESS (Successfully Uniting, Connecting, Creating, Engaging, and Serving Students) Mentorship program is designed to help new underrepresented students begin their successful transition to the University of New Haven. To become a mentor, please complete this form by Friday, June 18.

Alumni Board Nominations

The Alumni Association is governed by a Board of Directors, volunteers who serve the University by fostering and strengthening relationships with alumni and students. The Alumni Board has approved a slate of candidates for new membership. In accordance with the Alumni Association by-laws, this slate must be approved by a voting majority of the Alumni Association's membership.

EMBA Alum: ‘I’ve Championed Diversity Throughout My Career’

Shelley Stewart Jr. ’90 EMBA, ’16 Hon. was the first member of his family to go to college, and he went on to become a leading expert in supply chain management. He recently shared his experiences and wisdom with the University community.

30th Annual Charger Classic: June 8

Join us for the 30th Annual Charger Classic on Tuesday, June 8, at Race Brook Country Club. Proceeds will enhance the experience of the student-athletes through the development of the Peterson Performance Center and an initiative to renovate the locker rooms in Charger Gym. Your support for the Charger Classic will help transform New Haven Athletics!
