John Coverdale '85, Ed.D Gives Students Inside Look at Interview Process
As part of the University's celebration of Black History Month, John Coverdale '85, Ed.D. returned to his alma mater to share his experience and wisdom with current students as they prepare for job or internship interviews. The founder and lead consultant at Center for Workplace Solutions, Dr. Coverdale has 30 years of experience as a business consultant, professor, researcher, and practitioner.

University Brings Centennial Celebration to Florida
The University kicked off its Centennial Celebration in Boca Raton, Florida, Feb. 7-9. We had such a great time connecting with the more than 200 alumni, parents, and friends in attendance, showcasing our innovative students, and sharing our plans for the future. Alice Yi '22 Receives Inaugural Student Research Award
Alice Yi ’22, who has conducted cutting-edge research on a rare form of cancer, has been selected as the first recipient of the Bucknall Family Undergraduate Research or Experiential Learning Award. The award was created by longstanding University benefactor Bill Bucknall ’63, ’65, ’08 Hon., chair of the University’s Board of Governors and co-chair of the University’s Charger Challenge Centennial campaign, and his daughters, Elise Bucknall and Kristin Loranger, to honor students for exemplary work outside of the classroom.

Ben Hammel '18 Part of the Crew for Upcoming Prequel to "The Sopranos"
Ben Hammel ’18 has taken his talent to the big screen as a member of the set decoration team that worked on the upcoming feature film The Many Saints of Newark. This crime drama, which was written as a prequel to the critically acclaimed HBO series The Sopranos, is set to be released this fall. "It was a great experience," said Hammel, who worked on the set with fellow alumnus Tim Metzger ’85, the art department lead.

Dr. Alvin Tran Recognized as Part of Connecticut Magazine's 40 Under 40 List
Recently awarded a President's Discretionary Grant from the Connecticut Health Foundation, Dr. Alvin Tran is using the funding to launch a new student-centered fellowship training program. The fellowship will enable students to engage in important research opportunities and advocacy initiatives around mental health care. It will operate as part of the University's School of Health Sciences and its WeEmbody Lab, a research working group Dr. Tran launched last fall.

The University is gearing up for it's first-ever Day of Giving during Founders Day on April 30, and we want you to be a part of it! This is an exciting opportunity for alumni, students, parents, and friends to join our Centennial Celebration and show their Charger pride by giving back to the University.
